"Kazak with Barrel" Cossack (Pirate) Figurine Decanter and Shot Glass Lid
Fine Porcelain, painted and glazed - Circa 1950
Ukrainian Cossack man guarding his barrel of rum, or probably vodka!
With his faithful "dog" - looks a bit like a pig to me? - Either way, it is almost impossible to find one with the original shot glass lid and this one is in great shape for the age!
I strive to be as forthright as I can with my descriptions and in my opinion, this piece has no chips, cracks or even crazing! However, there is one fault line in the edge of the added on foot area that appears to me to have been from before the firing and does not seem to have affected the structural integrity of the piece at all. The feet are still sturdily attached and the area is nearly unable to be seen, unless you turn it on it's side. The glazing and paint are quite superb - shows minimal wear, fine scratches or spots of thinning glaze. Please refer to the pictures for a better view of this wonderful item and note the area I mentioned in pictures 4 and 5.
Wonderful gift for any decanter or figurine collector and an amazing addition to any collection.
Measures 8 1/4 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 7 1/4 inches deep.
